At last, an Australian made cutting die that can fit in most brands of Fabric Cutters. Cuts 6 layers of 100% cotton (recommended), although it can cut 8 layers occasionally.
This is a great project, using these shapes to make a medium sized Framed Hexagon. Use the smaller size to cut batting and the top fabric, the larger shape to cut the backing, which also folds over and becomes a "frame" for you hexagon. It is a great way to use up those fiddly bits of batting.
I will add a video shortly, but meanwhile there are many others, if you search for Framed hexagon tutorials online.
In Accuquilt cutters our dies do not need a shim when using a Blue Wren Notions Mat.
In others, an excellent shim can be achieved by using two of our mats underneath the die and one on top as it goes through the rollers, and then can be used to replace older mats as they wear.
Remember, you get one mat with each die!
