Uses two 1.25" x 15" mats at least, we include four mats !
This die is 10" x 15", therefore it needs a bigger machine than the one in the video. One with at least a 11" opening.
Cuts up a 110" length
Here is the video of the smaller version... worth a thousand words!
Cuts 6 layers of 100% cotton (recommended), although it can cut up to 8 layers occasionally. Especially with strip cutters as they have no stress on the blades.
To cut any sizes you require, place the fabric, fan-folded over the lines, avoiding going beyond the end of the blades. Place the narrow mats over the blades at the sizes you want to cut, there are markings etched on to the foam die top. For example, if you want to cut a 6 1/2" strip as on the picture, place the fabric down and the mat over the relevant blades, 0" and 6 1/2". The fabric that is not covered by the mat, will not be cut. It works in reverse too! By turning the die around, the measurements go from 0" upwards in 1" increments. We also give you four of the long narrow mats so you can quickly cut multiple strips at a time, ie for log cabins.
See, it's magic! Of course, we also have the smaller version.
The die needs a cutter that can use at least 10" wide dies.
At last, an Australian made cutting die that can fit in most brands of Fabric Cutters. Cuts 6 layers of 100% cotton (recommended), although it can cut 8 layers occasionally.
In Accuquilt cutters our dies do not need a shim when using a Blue Wren Notions Mat.
In others, an excellent shim can be achieved by using two of our mats underneath the die and one on top as it goes through the rollers, and then can be used to replace older mats as they wear.
Remember, you get one mat with each die!
